Hello friends on #hive leofinance community, my name is @jesus-son and here I come with a video explaining a social program. This is in line with the quest on #zealy program on CYOA-VLOGER particularly on a video on economics.

We all know that economics deals with the relationship of humans with the business world. Here, I discussed succinctly, the organization of social programs in business enterprises.

First of all, talking about social programs, it has to do with activities carried out by the government bodies or individual business organizations to help the public overcome some economic risks. The goal is often to help the public especially the impoverished in the society.

However, business organizations also tend to benefit from such programs. They benefit by gaining more patronage. Carrying out such activities as social programs, creat more awareness about the organization and by that, make more people to patronize the services of the particular business enterprise.

In this video I explained how a hospital I once worked with carried out health outreach to the public and with that the rate of patronage increased.

The name of the Hospital is St. Marello Catholic Hospital in Ibadan. It is a hospital that at a point in time was struggling to survive due to lack of adequate patronage. It was a struggle to pay the staffs and get the necessary goods to keep the operation of the hospital going.

We decided to conduct a health outreach. We wrote to some pharmaceutical companies for sponsorship and some assisted and with that and the little we had, we carried out the outreach in which members of the public were invited for free medical checkups and issuance of drugs. Quite a good number came and tests were carried out and some persons were issued drugs.

It cost us a lot of money but we gained from it . At the moment, the hospital comfortably pays the workers and has good amount to save and make for expansion.

In essence, social programs have two sided benefits. On one hand, it is beneficial to the public and secondly it is beneficial to the business enterprise doing it.
