I'm glad to be back for another performance at the Hive open mic. The week has been very busy, but I'm glad that I didn't have to leave my job.
Participating in the open mic weekly performance is a great way for me to de-stress and take a break from the stress of work.
It allows me to express my creativity, explore various ideas, and connect with like-minded people. Plus, it gives me something to look forward to every week.
Hive Open Mic is one of the communities that makes me feel like I have a job here on Hive.
Since the open mic is an online platform, I can feel comfortable and safe exploring new ideas and sharing my creative work without fear of judgment.
Moreover, the community is open to everyone, regardless of skill level or background, and I can find people who have similar interests to me.
This helps me to stay motivated and inspired, as well as build relationships with other members of the Hive Open Mic community.
I consider it to be a job as I earn money while doing it. At the same time, I have fun doing it.
The song I am presenting is an interesting Christmas song. It was two years ago that I listened to the song for the first time. It was given to one of my choir members at that time, and she was asked to score the song for our carol service.
Nevertheless, in December of last year, the song was given to my sister's @treasuree, who was asked to score it for our carol service. It is unfortunate that she wasn't able to sing it on Christmas Day because she had an exam to write at school on the day of the carol. I had to fill in for her.
While I was trying to master the lyrics and everything about the song, I found it tricky in some parts.
This is because when I sang along with the instrumentals, I noticed that I was singing behind them. I also felt that I was singing faster than the instrumentals.
To improve this, I focused on listening to the instrumentals more carefully. This helped me to get a better understanding of timing.
I also practiced singing at the same tempo to eventually match up with the instrumentals. I still haven't got it right.
It is really tricky and even while I was recording myself for the Hive open mic presentation, that tricky stuff was still happening.
I don't know why it's happening. I guess I haven't fully mastered the song. For example, I'd be in the middle of a song and suddenly forget how to sing the next part. I can not count how many times I had to re-do this video. In the end, I missed the lyrics, but I just has to continue singing.
As a result, my voice would start to waver and my pitch would drift off.
Of all the videos I recorded, this is the only one I prefer. I was able to do little to the sound using the KineMaster App.
For this presentation, I tried exploring the Kinemaster video editor. I love the features, especially the reverb.
But I need to keep editing it so I can get used to it and edit a nice video
I bought a Lavalier microphone. Honestly, I've tried that too, but I'm not satisfied yet.
I still think I need to get used to it and figure out how to edit my video and sound so that it's accurate and pleasant.
I would appreciate feedback on this video. Please tell me what you think about anything you observe.
This feedback helps me to be better. Learning how to properly use a microphone is a skill that takes time and effort to develop.
With practice and feedback from others, you can learn the ins and outs of your microphone and how to edit your videos and sound for the most accurate results. Thank you.
Meanwhile, just to add to the fun I had while recording this video, I took selfies of myself and I just feel like sharing them here.😁
As usual, the instrumental was extracted for the Moises app. Moises.ai.
All the photos are mine. I used Kinemaster for my video edit.
Long ago, one silent night
Love came down, shone Heaven's light
Wise men waiting
To this broken world, a gift
In the town of Bethlehem
Shepherds praying
Angels singing
Chorus
Glory in the highest
Glory in the highest
And peace on earth
Glory in the highest
Glory in the highest
The King has come
Jesus, light of heaven
Born to save us all
Verse 2
There He lay in Mary's care
Christ the Lord, Emmanuel
God is with us
Our great hope was ne'er before
Clearly seen as on that morn
Holy Savior
Clothed in splendor
Bridge
The King has come
Jesus, light of heaven
Born to save us all
