Love Light...

In my early twenties, at a time when my mom was still selling her art at the local markets – I accompanied her one Saturday. It was a particularly challenging time in my life and she took me along in an attempt to get me out of my “slump”… well, it was almost serendipitous because in my random wandering around, I discovered Reiki.

I was so blown away not only by what I experienced from that practitioner but also by everything she told me about myself. That day marked a definitive moment in my life and I eventually got my level one and then level two degrees in Reiki.

I have never made use of it commercially – the closest I have gotten to that is Reiki sessions on my mom and a couple of close friends. I have however, used it on myself for many years and it has helped me through some very tough times.

With everything that has been going on with my mom of late, I have started to do little reiki sessions with her. It is amazing how quickly she relaxes after I place my hands on her, but typical of my mother – she keeps exiting her relaxed state to concern herself with the fact that I am “still” sitting next to her on the bed and then she repeatedly tells me to go to bed, because she feels like she is inconveniencing me.

Distance reiki is something I have only done a few times in my life but has proven effective every single time, so I figured that would probably be a better approach for now…

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is the “chant” if you will…

Hon - The Origin
Sha - The Person (recipient)
Ze - via the “tunnel” of healing light
Sho - Real
Nen - Intention/ prayer / meditation

…and that is what inspired this doodle…
