PODCAST: HBD vs NIGERIAN BANKS, WOOING POLYCUB

It has become a funny play lately with my banks here in Nigeria. The easy assess we both have to my heard currency.. hehe.

I learnt to save in a piggy bank we know, we cant easilly assess the money like we can these days. It seems to be more secure than most banks I must say. Do we still need these banks at all?

I often ask my self why I would work for so much and then my money gets paid to the bank who practically gives it to another person to work with and earn some interest on and yet I get paid back less than I have given them.

Bank charges keep coming everyday, for emails, for SMS alerts, for POS transactions, for ATM usage .. and I just keep smiling.

This was probably what the failed E-naira couldn't rise to accomplish. Well that was because it was a failed idea from the start. They should have aimed for stable cryptocurrency, not a CBDC Worthing a devalued Naira. No one seem to have used it.

Banks are not the best place to put your money right now, not for safety, not for security, not for usage because the expenses of using a bank now far exceeds the income of interest that it may accrue that's if it ever accrues any. 6% fixed interest rate the last time I care to check, I m sure by now it's lower. So what's the use of these banks then. Only big companies whose interest incomes are huge and exceeding the cost of running a bank can smile to the bank. Simply put, Our banks are getting too expensive to have.
What's more sad is the high note of warning against crypto transaction through them. Is this testing our ability to operate a decentralized economy?

Crypto comes to rescue.

We are not even talking about investment right now, but when it comes to saving, Crypto is the way foreward. There are trusted platforms and projects for this which can boast of handsome interests rates of over 20% and easy assess to your funds when you need them. No bank in the world, none that I have heard of can give that.

Before now, I had heard of Terra UST giving this whooping sum for saving and even more for staking and it really was attractive. As it would to anyone who does his own research.

I dug further to see how they sustain it and realised they backed it up with some other utilities such collateralized loans, staking and possibly bonding. It made sense, they were using the money to make more money and distributing back to savers. Unlike the banks, who make more money, and distribute it to the borrowers and themselves, but those who provide the liquidity and left dealing with bank charges. They are moths that perish your precious.

I am glad our Hive has risen to the stage where these savings can compete with other technologies out there. We came from 3% to 7% to 12% and now, I checked my wallet having read many posts from markymark and geek-girl and it's amazing to see it finally actualized.

We definitely saw this coming, I did and so did most people who s been here long enough.

Same way we ve been seeing HIVE rise to the top 10 BLOCKCHAINs in the Crypto space soon. We are really not joking about it.

Now this is not just a fixed interest, it compounds and can be claimed monthly. With about 3 days unsaving if you choose to.

Well, when something looks pretty good, it won't be long before someone comes along to woo. It may be Polycub doing the wooing tho however, I m begining to see some moves towards creating a pHBD - Polycub pool or so, if this becomes the case then the game changer can happen with so much winning for all in.

Hive deserves the accolades, and much thanks to the witnesses for this move. Its is for the hive community and it will surely bring in a lot of people and outside funds.
