Hola amigos de Hive, en esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes una velada de Jazz a la que asistí con mi familia, y donde pudimos oír en el piano a un gran amigo de la familia llamado Virgilio Armas, razón principal de nuestra asistencia a este pequeño local que lleva por nombre Bordes, dedicado a resaltar la cultura en la región.

Hello friends of Hive, this time I want to share with you a Jazz evening that I attended with my family, and where we could hear on the piano a great family friend named Virgilio Armas, the main reason for our attendance to this small place called Bordes, dedicated to highlight the culture in the region.

El evento estaba pautado para las 6 de la tarde, hora a la que llegamos en familia. Habíamos reservado una mesa para 8 personas, nos sentamos y nos dispusimos a esperar el inicio del evento. Mientras tanto nos dieron el menú para pedir algunas bebidas, parte de mi familia y yo pedimos Tinto de Verano, una bebida con alcohol que lleva vino tinto y limonada y otros miembros de mi familia pidieron café con leche, y cerveza para tener algo que saborear mientras los músicos se preparaban.

The event was scheduled for 6 pm, at which time we arrived as a family. We had reserved a table for 8 people, we sat down and waited for the event to begin. In the meantime we were given the menu to order some drinks, part of my family and I ordered Tinto de Verano, an alcoholic drink with red wine and lemonade and other members of my family ordered coffee with milk and beer to have something to savor while the musicians were getting ready.

El gran pianista Virgilio Armas se acercó a nuestro mesa, ya que era una viejo amigo de juventud de mi padre y mis tías de toda la familia en general, y hacía varios años que no se veían por lo que fue un encuentro muy grato. Que mejor manera de reencontrarse que en un evento musical en donde él mismo nos deleitaría con unas suaves tonadas de música Jazz. Mi padre se tomó fotos junto a su gran amigo, e incluso como buen amante de la música clásica le hizo una petición de alguna canción de Mozart, por supuesto Armas se lo tomó a broma pues para este evento debía interpretar lo estipulado por la agrupación.

The great pianist Virgilio Armas came to our table, as he was an old friend of my father's youth and my aunts and the whole family in general, and it had been several years since they had seen each other, so it was a very pleasant meeting. What better way to meet again than in a musical event where he himself would delight us with some soft tunes of Jazz music. My father took pictures with his great friend, and even as a good lover of classical music he asked him for a song by Mozart, of course Armas took it as a joke because for this event he had to interpret what was stipulated by the group.

Las luces se apagaron, y el evento dio inicio con las primeras tonadas provenientes del Piano de Virgilio Armas, de Saxofón de Mario Zambrano, la batería y el bajo de otros músicos cuyos nombres desconozco. El ambiente se tornó colorido con luces azules, verdes y rojas sobre los músicos. Las melodías del saxofón destacaban sobremanera.

The lights went out, and the event began with the first tunes coming from Virgilio Armas' piano, Mario Zambrano's saxophone, and the drums and bass of other musicians whose names I don't know. The atmosphere became colorful with blue, green and red lights over the musicians. The melodies of the saxophone stood out above all.

Mientras tanto pedimos dos pizzas para deleitar nuestro paladar, al mismo tiempo que deleitábamos nuestros oídos con tan magnifica y relajante música. Las pizzas estaban sumamente deliciosas y cada uno tomó porción de cada una pues llevaban distintos ingredientes.

In the meantime, we ordered two pizzas to delight our palate, while at the same time delighting our ears with such magnificent and relaxing music. The pizzas were extremely delicious and we each took a portion of each one as they had different toppings.

A mitad de presentación Virgilio Armas pidió a su banda un momento para interpretar una pequeña pieza musical solista, es posible que fuese para satisfacer la petición de mi padre, pues este le hizo saber que quería oírlo sin ser opacado por el sonido del saxofón. Luego de esto armas dio unas palabras al público y dio un gran saludo a la familia Granados es decir mi familia y agradeció nuestra asistencia.

Halfway through the presentation Virgilio Armas asked his band for a moment to play a short solo piece of music, it is possible that it was to satisfy my father's request, as he let him know that he wanted to hear him without being overshadowed by the sound of the saxophone. After this, he gave a few words to the audience and gave a big salute to the Granados family, that is to say my family, and thanked us for our attendance.

El evento tuvo una duración aproximada de dos horas en las que los músicos interpretaron diferentes piezas, una de ellas fue “Florecita” de Antonio Prieto.

The event lasted approximately two hours during which the musicians performed different pieces, one of them was "Florecita" by Antonio Prieto.

Finalmente el conjunto musical despidió si antes complacer al público con un tema más. Hubo tiempo para una foto familiar junto al viejo amigo Virgilio Armas y nos despedimos , satisfechos al haber disfrutado tan magnifica velada en familia.

Finally the musical group said goodbye without first pleasing the audience with one more song. There was time for a family photo with old friend Virgilio Armas and we said goodbye, satisfied to have enjoyed such a magnificent family evening.
