Este desafío es muy estimulante porque nos invita a hacer un alto para reflexionar sobre la importancia de la vida. La idea es que cada día mostremos nuestro agradecimiento por el hecho de seguir vivos.
Es verdad que todos tenemos multitud de problemas, los que se han agravado con la llegada del covid19. Pero aún así, en medio de tantas dificultades, también tenemos muchos motivos para celebrar la vida. Con solo detenernos a mirar un poquito a nuestro alrededor nos podemos convencer de ello. El milagro de la creación está presente en los detalles más pequeños.
En mi país continúa la cuarentena, son más de 150 días los que llevamos en encierro. Esta semana en nuestra ciudad se cumple la semana rígida, esto quiere decir que tenemos más restricciones para la movilización y para acceder a ciertos servicios.
En mi barrio va apareciendo una novedad (en Venezuela la palabra barrio se refiere a un sector de la ciudad donde hay viviendas de construcciones modestas), se van multiplicando los pequeños negocios. Son muchas las familias que colocan frente a sus casas una pequeña venta, generalmente de artículos alimenticios o de comidas preparadas, tales como pan, dulces y otros.
Estos pequeños negocios cumplen dos funciones importantes: permiten la obtención de algunos ingresos para paliar la severa crisis económica, y al mismo tiempo sirven para mantener la actividad social. Muchas de las personas se acercan a los negocios no solo a comprar sino a intercambiar algunas palabras con las personas que están allí. Es una forma de salir del aislamiento impuesto por la pandemia.
Esto es lo más relevante que tengo para comentarles en esta entrega. Invito a todos a participar de la iniciativa. Cada día son más las personas que se animan a dejar sus testimonios.

In my country, the quarantine continues; we have been in prison for more than 150 days. This week in our city is the rigid week, which means that we have more restrictions on movement and access to certain services.
In my neighborhood a novelty is appearing (in Venezuela the word neighborhood refers to a sector of the city where there are houses of modest construction), small businesses are multiplying. There are many families who set up a small shop in front of their houses, generally selling food items or prepared meals, such as bread, sweets and others.
These small businesses fulfill two important functions: they allow the obtaining of some income to alleviate the severe economic crisis, and at the same time they serve to maintain the social activity. Many people come to the businesses not only to buy but to exchange some words with the people there. It is a way out of the isolation imposed by the pandemic.
This is the most relevant thing I have to say in this issue. I invite everyone to participate in the initiative. Every day more and more people are encouraged to leave their testimonies.
