ARTICLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am from a middle and working class family of Akaghara Nwachi in Ezi-Idume Ngodo, Afikpo, Ebonyi State Nigeria. My name is Nwachi Oko Ikenna. I am the youngest among all of my family members. Infact, I was born into a loving and supportive family. At my pre-childhood, I used to listen to stories from my father and this has a long-lasting effect on me. My father is a hardworking and dedicated teacher; who enjoys imparting and grooming younger minds to becoming better persons as predestined by God. His name is Mr. Benedict Oko Nwachi Akaghara. He loves his family so much and likes teaching, writing and reading. In fact, he was a father, mentor and a good teacher to me. My mother on the other hand, is a patient, forgiving, calm, hard working, loving, selfless and friendly person. She has all the characteristics of a good mother.

I bagged a Higher National Diploma in Public Administration from Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana, Afikpo Ebonyi State. After which I proceeded to obtaining a professional Diploma in Education including Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Certificate. I have also acquired several Vocational and Professional Skills and Certificates including Presentation of Papers in Conferences and submits which are published in some journals in schools.

I am a keen reader of Novels as well as a writer and a teacher. I am good at sports especially football. Besides this, I am a fast runner also and I love athletics.
The advice of my parents had a keen effect on my habits; I believe in speaking the truth and trying my best not to lie. My father advised me that if I make a mistake, I should admit it. I try my best to do so. I am a very adventurous person too and like to take risks. I like to do a creative thing besides doing old stuff again and again. Learning new things is one thing I always enjoy. Again, I am sympathetic; always ready to show love and help especially the indigents and the poor around me.

For example, when I walk on the road or street and I see any handicapped person or vagrants, most of them are beggars of food and money, I don’t hesitate to assist in any way I can. As a person, I believe life is an art, and I am the artist of my life. I try to keep it full of colours and as cheerful as possible no matter what life throws at me. I like to keep a smile on my face no matter what I am going through, and that smile keeps me going. Besides, I was brought up in a multicultural community. Therefore, I am an extrovert, and I like to meet people. I love to experience their lives, cultures and traditions, which makes me happy and cheerful.

As every man has weaknesses so I do. I am a little bit lazy at some places which I do not like. For instance, I may be inspired to write vital and educative piece, but to some extent I become lazy to write them down in my notebook or save it in my notepad. But I try my best to overcome my weaknesses. One of my dark sides is that I always want to be the centre of attention in our family. I always want to feel that I am loved and cared for by my parents. But, of course I am always willing to help when my relatives and friends need me, and in return they are also open to extend some help to me especially in my studies and career pursuit whether financially or morally.

I am an ambitious workaholic; who intend to satisfy high aspirations through a strong desire and determination to succeed. Since life is meant to be lived avidly and with visualization to do good for your fellow beings.
Keeping this aim in mind, I have always desired to serve human in whatever capacity I can.
