Esta hermosa canción fue compuesta por el gran Armando Manzanero el año 1976.
Don Armando Manzanero fue un compositor, cantante y productor musical mexicano, nacido en Mérida, Yucatán el año 1935.
Está considerado uno de los compositores más exitosos de Latinoamérica, realizó más de 400 composiciones, unas 60 han sido éxito internacional, grabó más de 40 discos y compuso música para películas.

Los más grandes intérpretes grabaron sus canciones: Luis Miguel, Juan Gabriel, Raphael, Elvis Presley, Tony Bennett, Christina Aguilera, Andrea Bocelli,Chavela Vargas, Vicki Carr,
Diego "el Cigala", Ana Torroja, Vicente Fernández, Roberto Carlos, Los Panchos, solo por nombrar algunos.

Manzanero era conocido como "El Rey del romanticismo", sus maravillosas letras, sencillas, bien estructuradas, narraban el amor y el desamor de una manera que de inmediato tocaban al público oyente.
