En esta oportunidad los invito a ver mi entrada para el concurso de logo del juego RAGNAROK. Como ya saben un tiempo me dedique a hacer diseño, pero desde que entré a estudiar artes me enfoque en ilustración y muy poco a diseño.

Empecé a trabajar en un estilo muy kawaii y ahora mi línea de trabajo va por ahí hasta en diseños. Por eso no estaba segura de entrar a este concurso, ya que el juego es más realista y quizá mi propuesta resulte infantil para lo que buscan.

Aun así Eddito (@eddiespino) me convenció de intentarlo, así que aquí veremos cómo fue mi proceso creativo para hacer este logo. Si llegará a ganar mi propuesta y me dieran retroalimentación para hacerle cambios, claro que lo haría para lograr el objetivo deseado.

My little ones, I hope you are having a great time.

This time I invite you to see my entry for the RAGNAROK game logo contest. As you know for a while I dedicated myself to design, but since I started studying arts I focused on illustration and very little on design.

I started working in a very kawaii style and now my line of work goes that way even in designs. That's why I wasn't sure about entering this contest since the game is more realistic and maybe my proposal is childish for what they are looking for.

Even so, Eddito (@eddiespino) convinced me to give it a try, so here we will see how my creative process was to make this logo. If my proposal wins and I get feedback to make changes, of course I would do it to achieve the desired goal.

Antes de iniciar quisiera hablarles de los tipos de Logos:

ISOTIPO

Parte simbólica de la marca, está es reconocida sin texto.

LOGOTIPO

Cuando se identifica con el texto.

IMAGOTIPO

Combinación de imagen y texto, también funciona por separado

ISOLOGO

El texto y el icono confirman un grupo, no funcionan el uno sin el otro.

Before I start, I would like to talk about the types of Logos:

ISOTYPE.

Symbolic part of the brand, it is recognized without text.

LOGO TYPE

También hice una búsqueda sobre Ragnarok (@ragnarok.game):

¿Qué significa?

El apocalipsis nórdico en el que los dioses pelean y mueren, ellos saben que este suceso es inevitable y saben que morirán y como morirán.

¿Qué lo representa?

No encontré algo en específico que lo representará, pero si encontré ideas de símbolos nórdicos vikingos para tatuajes y una serpiente comiéndose a sí misma como imagen recurrente, así como cascos y cráneos de animales con cuernos.

¿De qué trata el juego?

Es una mezcla de picar con ajedrez e imagen nórdica.

¿Qué elementos puedo tomar para representar la esencia del juego en una imagen?

Las piezas de ajedrez, los símbolos del picar o baraja inglesa y simbología nórdica.

What does it mean?

The Norse apocalypse in which the gods fight and die, they know that this event is inevitable and they know that they will die and how they will die.

What does it represent?

I didn't find something specific that will represent it, but I did find ideas of Norse Viking symbols for tattoos and a snake eating itself as a recurring image, as well as helmets and horned animal skulls.

What is the game about?

It's a mix of chess poking and Nordic imagery.

What elements can I take to represent the essence of the game in an image?

The chess pieces, the symbols of chess or English deck of cards, and Nordic symbology.

Para la tipografía no me quise complicar y elegí una que se viera como de fantasía, mágica y bonita. Se llama Cinzel y es una de mis tipografías favoritas, la descargué de Da Font.

Mi intención al principio era hacer un ISOTIPO, o sea que la imagen fuera la que hablara por si sola para reconocer el juego, sin embargo, conforme fui avanzando me di cuenta de que necesitaba el texto en el ISOTIPO convirtiéndolo en IMAGOTIPO.

Cómo IMAGOTIPO pretendo que ambos funcionen juntos o separados, aunque me gusta más como se ven juntos.

En resumen mi propuesta funciona como LOGOTIPO, ISOTIPO e IMAGOTIPO. En otras palabras funciona solamente con el texto, únicamente con el dibujo o juntos.

Algunos bocetos que no quedaron, pero que igualmente me gustaron. Cómo saben mi lado kawaii no puede faltar, así que aquí están mis propuestas más lindas. Espero les haya gustado y que disfrutarán ver mi proceso creativo para hacer esta imagen.

For the typography, I didn't want to complicate things and I chose one that looked like fantasy, magical and beautiful. It's called Cinzel and it's one of my favorite fonts, I downloaded it from Da Font.

My intention at the beginning was to make an ISOTYPE, that is to say, that the image was the one that spoke by itself to recognize the game, however, as I progressed I realized that I needed the text in the ISOTYPE turning it into IMAGOTYPE.

As IMAGOTYPE I intend for both to work together or separately, although I like the way they look together better.

In short, my proposal works as LOGOTYPE, ISOTYPE, and IMAGOTYPE. In other words, it works with text only, drawing only or together.

Some sketches didn't work, but I liked them anyway. As you know my kawaii side can't be missing, so here are my cutest proposals. I hope you liked it and that you will enjoy seeing my creative process to make this image.
