Today is a productive day. I finished everything on my to-do list and the best thing I had was the first part of the day this early morning. I thought we cannot go to the planned place we need to because last night there was heavy rain but I am glad that this morning it was good weather. We prepared our respective vehicles. I was with my sisters and we are about to go to the beach to get relax and have a great conversation while enjoying swimming.
While my sisters were busy looking at the pebbles, I met a new friend who is a Fisherman and a resident near the sea. He was able to share his life experiences and told me that during this pandemic it made his life even more difficult. He was thankful to the government in our province that they are now allowing our fishermen to do their jobs and earn money for their hard work. By that, they can simply provide the basic necessities to their families.
He was in a hurry to catch fish because the best time to sell fish is before noontime or way better in the early morning to maintain its freshness because in the latest way to sell fish during this lockdown is through online or walk into the house to house so they need to work double of what they used to do before.
This job was not easy because their number one enemy is the weather. I was amazed at how he was able to survive this kind of situation especially depending on how many fish he can get reflects the amount he can have back. Before we went back home, I met another fisherman and we decided to buy what he caught so we can have a fish soup this morning for our breakfast and in return too, he can buy food for his family. This is a win-win process.
As you can see at the end of the video, that little girl is his daughter who is looking far away from his father who is about to make a living. This really inspires me to keep working hard, never complain, and be thankful for whatever blessings might come whether it’s small but it still counts.
I salute to all our fishermen out there who never give up in life and keep making themselves busy to make a living. You all deserve a pat on your shoulders. Godspeed!
