Gleamlight , is a game published by D3 Publisher and DICO, it is a 2D adventure and platform game, which presents constant action, where we must go through dungeon-style scenarios and in turn presents a artistic section that falls in love. The game has been embroiled in controversy since its launch, being accused of having plagiarized elements of Hollow Knight which is considered an innovative and outstanding game within the Indie scene. Despite this Gleamlight has been released for multiple platforms such as PS4, PC, Xbox One among others. Gleamlight , invites us to immerse ourselves in its world, it takes us by the hand without an entrance story but with its subtlety it takes us directly to the action.

STORY

Gleamlight does not present a direct story, it is more of a psychological immersion, so the plot is left to the player's imagination; What little we do know is that we must venture into a crystal world inhabited by strange creatures, we must explore different scenarios that feel cold and gloomy. The darkness covers everything and our duty is to restore the world to its brightness, for this reason we embark on a dangerous adventure with our sword in hand we venture through beautiful scenarios full of dangerous creatures to save the world.

GAMEPLAY

Gleamlight , uses the common denominator of platform games, to begin its visual section is made in two dimensions, we will have the options to solve a set of puzzles that are associated with physics, for which our jumps and movements must be performed with great precision. Our main objective is to go through the scenarios in order to finish off our enemies, who usually surprise with varied attacks and especially because of their speed. Our main weapon is a sword which has a melee attack range so we must be close to our adversaries. The game employs a Side Scroll mobility with Jumps reminiscent of games of the same genre as Contra or Hollow Knight.

TECHNICAL SECTION

Gleamlight presents a marvelous artistic section, within the scenarios we find a set of objects and living beings recreated in the form of glass, which stand out for the light that accompanies our character and is reflected in them, for which the play of light and shadow is superb. The color palette used opts for dark tones where black, blue and deep red predominate. Its design manages to create a mysterious environment in which the player's good eye determines how far they can advance in the game. The game is committed to total immersion, so we do not have voices for the characters or a user interface that can divert the player's attention. Its soundtrack is poor but it does its job, the environmental effects stand out and usually accompany the action to give realism when we break some glass.

VERDICT

Gleamlight is a game that pleasantly surprises, it does not reinvent the wheel, but it is capable of keeping us glued to the computer until we manage to overcome its different scenarios. It is a game that stands out for its artistic section and its immersive gameplay. A game that manages to maintain the narrative intrigue from the first moment. The defects that the game may have is compensated by the visual and the game mechanics. It is an enjoyable game at all times and that we can use to get out of the classic monotony of shooting or Zombies.
