The long term goals gives us the direction that we need, and we can then adjust our mid term and short term goals to follow that direction.

And it also helps to sort out our daily actions, which are taking us closer to that long term goal and which are not, and then adjust accordingly.

I also talked a bit about my own focus on this and what some of my long term goals are.
