And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

The baptism that Jesus Christ did was just to show us example that we will have to be baptized. Jesus was sinless and needed not to be baptized because the real intent of baptism is to wash away sins.

1 Peter 2:22 KJV
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

Acts 2:38 KJV
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Baptism is for washing away sins.

Acts 22:16 KJV
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

1 Peter 2:21 KJV
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Christ our Lord showed us an example of how to life must be lived. When He was baptized, He was just showing us example. He did not say we must be baptized in the river where He was baptized.
