I welcome you all to another episode of Creative Sunday, if you are seeing this post for the first time creative Sunday is when we get to showcase our skills.
Today I will be showing us how I make this low-budget yam porridge, I had been craving for a simple meal for days and I do not have any of the ingredients at home.
I went to the market and got my yam and I decided to show us steps on how I cook the meal and also share the video with us to make it more simple for people who would like to try it out.
Let's move to the ingredients that I used in putting this low-budget meal together.
INGREDIENTS
Yam this is the main
Palm oil
Pepper
Scent leaves
Salt
Crayfish
Seasoning cubes
Firstly I peeled my yam into a bowl of water and then rinsed, as it was shown in the video, the water was dirty so I had to rinse two times and then drain the water.
Step 2
I cut my yam in cubes, very small and not the regular way of slicing yam, since I will be using it for porridge I need to dice it into cubes, then I arrange it into my cooking pot and add a little water to cook and then I added my salt, red oil, seasoning cubes and pepper, stir together then I cover it to cook.
Step 3
I moved to wash my crayfish which I show in the video, I love to add salt to the crayfish and then add water to it, by doing this it will make the dirt settle down in the bowl then I can now rinse the crayfish and dispose the water, then rinse it the second time to be very sure that it is clean and no particles under it.
Step 4
After all the above steps I rinsed the scent leave that I will be using and then sliced it, now I will return to my boiling yam and have a taste of it before adding my crayfish so that I can adjust any necessary steps or adding more salt to it if it doesn't taste well, I added the crayfish and stir then allow it to seamer for a minute before adding the scent leaves, then I will turn off my burner and allow the heat to do the rest.
These are the steps I used in making this meal, I hope we can all try it at home
