    1. Toto.
    2. Santana.
    3. Instinto animal.
    4. Jimmy Hendrix.
    5. Ella Fitzgerald.
    6. Y muchos mas.

How are the hivebrothers? I hope they are super cool today. This song has a very cool scent to miss the opportunity to do a keyboard cover and improvise a solo.

One of the best known riffs in history, brilliant voices and with several surprises for those who listen more, a simple but effective chorus and that psychoanalytic air characteristic of that time. How to say no to this song?

Let's read a little bit of history

Sunshine Of Your Love" was recorded at New York's Atlantic Studios in May 1967. The producer was Felix Pappalardi (The Youngbloods), who had a chequered life and a tragic death: he went deaf as a founding member of Mountain and was shot dead by his wife (although she was convicted of it, she always insisted that it was an accident). He was part of Cream's second album "Disraeli Gears", which was released in November 1967.*

Jack Bruce's bass line accompanies the whole song except for the chorus and is the most recognizable part of the song, just hearing the first four notes and you know what the song is. Best of all, this bass line was born from the hand of one of the best guitarists in history: Jimi Hendrix. After going to a Hendrix concert, Jack Bruce took a line that the guitarist had been playing and developed it into the famous riff we know today. The funny thing is that later Jimi Hendrix liked "Sunshine of Your Love" so much that he played it several times without knowing that he himself had been the inspiration. What a curiosity!!!!.

The guitar solo begins with some notes that you will clearly distinguish: they correspond to the first phrase of "Blue Moon" ("Blue moon, you saw me standing alone...") and from there he improvises a new solo. It is curious that, as in the song Cocaine by J.J. Cale, Clapton, he uses "Blue Moon". Also, if you tune your ear a little bit, you'll think that Clapton plays in another scale, as if he were out of tune: this happens because he plays the song in the major pentatonic scale that uses "Blue Moon", while "Sunshine of Your Love" was built in a blues scale. Clapton keeps this song as one of his favorites from the Cream era, it has always been present in his setlist and he still plays it.

The performance of the drums of this song is very peculiar, try to follow it with your hands on the table or your thighs, you will see that the blows are not typical of pop and rock music. The rhythm of the drums doesn't go with the song, some people think the rhythm is funny, others think it's great, the question is that the drums are different, but what's different about it? Normally Rock songs use the backbeat, which emphasizes the second and fourth beats of the bar hitting the box, but to add something new to this song, Baker changed the backbeat for the downbeat, so the drums sound syncopated, as if they were out of time, highlighting beats 1 and 3 of each bar. If you look at it, it sounds like a tribal drum kit, from the American Indians. The end of the song has an increased rhythm, in which he improvises with the chord of A quinta.

It should be noted that the song has been reverted many times, these are some of the bands that paid homage to Cream:

    1. Toto.
    2. Santana.
    3. Animal instinct.
    4. Jimmy Hendrix.
    5. Ella Fitzgerald.
    6. And many more.

    Letra | Lyrics

    It's getting near dawn
When lights close their tired eyes
I'll soon be with you my love
    Give you my dawn surprise
I'll be with you darling soon
I'll be with you when the stars start falling

    I've been waiting so long
    To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love

    I'm with you my love
The light's shining through on you
Yes, I'm with you my love
It's the morning and just we two
I'll stay with you darling now
I'll stay with you 'til my seas are dried up

    I've been waiting so long
    To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love

    I'm with you my love
The light's shining through on you
Yes, I'm with you my love
It's the morning and just we two
I'll stay with you darling now
I'll stay with you 'til my seas are dried up

    I've been waiting so long
    I've been waiting so long
    I've been waiting so long
    To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love
