Un gran abrazo a la comunidad artística de HIVE como lo es BEE ON THE STAGE, y en esta entrega he querido compartirles mis conocimientos en torno a la RUMBA CUBANA, un tipo de danza afrodescendiente, que viene a formar parte de folclore de Cuba. En muchas canciones de salsa la melodía pide algunos pasos de Rumba, por lo que conocer de este género de la danza te permitirá sin lugar a dudas nutrir tu baile social.

A big hug to the artistic community of HIVE as it is BEE ON THE STAGE, and in this delivery I wanted to share with you my knowledge about the CUBAN RUMBA, a type of Afro-descendant dance, which is part of the folklore of Cuba. In many salsa songs the melody calls for some Rumba steps, so knowing about this dance genre will undoubtedly allow you to nurture your social dancing.
En mi formación en la Salsa Casino, al llegar al nivel avanzado, decidí especializarme en el género de la RUMBA CUBANA y todo lo de que de allí se deriva, como por ejemplo el GUAGANCÓ donde el hombre y la mujer bailen en conjunto, y espero mas adelante compartir con la comunidad algunas exhibiciones de esta variedad de la RUMBA CUBANA. Por lo que ahora nos ocupa, en el recurso audiovisual te enseño como comprender LA CLAVE de la melodía, para que se te facilite dominar la base de la RUMBA CUBANA.
In my training in the Salsa Casino, when I reached the advanced level, I decided to specialize in the genre of the RUMBA CUBANA and everything that derives from it, such as the GUAGANCÓ where the man and woman dance together, and I hope later to share with the community some exhibitions of this variety of the RUMBA CUBANA. For what concerns us now, in the audiovisual resource I teach you how to understand the KEY of the melody, to make it easier for you to master the basis of the RUMBA CUBANA.
Como regla general al interpretar esta danza, es importante flexionar las rodillas, y hacer continuamente una especie rebote que es lo que en el argot de la RUMBA CUBANA se conoce como “MOLLEO”. En el recurso audiovisual podrás disfrutar de interesantes ejemplos demostrativos.
As a general rule when performing this dance, it is important to bend the knees, and continuously make a kind of bounce which is what is known as "MOLLEO" in CUBAN RUMBA slang. In the audiovisual resource you can enjoy interesting demonstrative examples.
Finalmente, no olvides que bailar es como hacer ejercicio, por eso es importante calentar antes de ejecutar cualquier rutina de baile, en el caso especifico de la RUMBA CUBANA te recomiendo calentar mucho los hombros, y hacer varias rotaciones del cuello.
