La música y la neurociencia: cerebro triuno y cover de Jey Jude (Esp-Eng)

Hoy quiero compartir con la comunidad de MUSIC esta temática que trabajo desde hace unos 15 años, como lo es la del Cerebro Triuno, pero vinculándolo con el maravillo arte de hacer música. Acá presentaré mis ideas, en torno al tema de como la música influye positivamente en el desarrollo de nuestra capacidad cerebral. De igual manera te dejo en la sección de lecturas recomendadas dos artículos donde profundizo en esta teoría vinculándola por supuesto con la música.

¿Por qué hacer esta vinculación?

Porque el hacer música implica poner a trabajar todo nuestro Cebro Triuno, es decir, el básico o reptil, el sistema límbico y la neocorteza. Desde el punto de vista del Cerebro Básico, tenemos esas rutinas de muchas horas de práctica para tocar con la precisión que se requiere un fragmento de música, es decir hablamos de una inteligencia de patrones, que invita a revisar cuan disciplinados somos para lograr una meta. Desde el punto de vista del Cerebro Límbico, las emociones implicadas al interpretar una melodía, transmiten energía a la persona que la escucha. Desde el punto de vista de la Neocorteza, tenemos el aporte del hemisferio izquierdo en ese pensamiento lógico-racional que implica leer una partitura, y al mismo tiempo el aporte del hemisferio derecho con ese aporte de creatividad, tan necesario en todo arte.

¿Y es bueno saber de Neurociencia como Músicos que somos?

Desde mi opinión considero que si es importante, porque trasciendes el hecho de la interpretación de una melodía al saber los beneficios que deja en tu cerebro el hacer música, y los beneficios que se producen en la persona que te escucha, lo que significa tener un acercamiento científico a lo que está ocurriendo, y con el que puedes motivar a otras personas a hacer música.

Today I want to share with the MUSIC community this topic that I have been working on for about 15 years, such as the Triune Brain, but linking it to the wonderful art of making music. Here I will present my ideas about how music positively influences the development of our brain capacity. Likewise I leave you in the section of recommended readings two articles where I deepen in this theory linking it of course with music.

Why make this linkage?

Because making music involves putting to work all our Triune Brain, that is, the basic or reptilian, the limbic system and the neocortex. From the point of view of the Basic Brain, we have those routines of many hours of practice to play a piece of music with the precision that is required, that is to say, we are talking about an intelligence of patterns, which invites us to review how disciplined we are to achieve a goal. From the Limbic Brain point of view, the emotions involved in playing a melody transmit energy to the listener. From the point of view of the Neocortex, we have the contribution of the left hemisphere in that logical-rational thinking involved in reading a score, and at the same time the contribution of the right hemisphere with that contribution of creativity, so necessary in all art.

And is it good to know about Neuroscience as Musicians that we are?

From my point of view I think it is important, because you transcend the fact of interpreting a melody by knowing the benefits that making music leaves in your brain, and the benefits that are produced in the person who listens to you, which means having a scientific approach to what is happening, and with which you can motivate other people to make music.

Es así como veo en la música un camino para el fortalecimiento de todo nuestro cerebro. De allí que la flauta dulce constituye un interesante instrumento para iniciar, para romper esos miedos de hacer música. Muchas veces las personas tienen creencias limitantes de que no pueden, pero al ver la música como ese estimulante del Cerebro, puede surgir una cierta motivación en atreverse. Quiero compartir con ustedes este video que preparé hace ya un cierto tiempo, donde cuento un poco mi historia sobre mis comienzos en la música.

This is how I see music as a way to strengthen our whole brain. Hence the recorder is an interesting instrument to start, to break those fears of making music. Many times people have limiting beliefs that they can't, but seeing music as a stimulant for the brain, a certain motivation to dare can arise. I want to share with you this video that I prepared some time ago, where I tell a little of my story about my beginnings in music.

Y la interpretación que tengo de la misma, es que podemos transformar la realidad cuando nos disponemos con la mejor actitud para hacerlo, también que en la vida debemos tener la sabiduría de delegar funciones, y no pretender cargar el mundo sobre nuestros hombros.
