Revisando el platanal: Una mañana productiva (es/en)

Saludos amigos que visitan mi blog. Esta mañana, después de preparado el desayuno, les di el de pie a mi señora esposa y su nieto. Pues comenzaba un nuevo día de actividades para ellos. Mi esposa aún trabaja de laboratorista, su nieto estudia en la secundaria allá por el pueblo.

Mi hijo Eduardo, que casualmente regresaba de llevar a Eduardito, mi nieto, a la escuela primaria, pues pasó por la casa y se sentó un rato en la sala. Le brindé café, de paso le convidé a darle una revisión al platanal que tenemos en un solarsito detrás del edificio. Quería darle un poco de cultura para eliminar las hojas secas, plantas que han proliferado por las lluvias. De paso recoger algunos racimos de plátanos tanto para el consumo como para el lechoncito que tengo en el patio de la casa.

El último ciclón que pasó por aquí, había tumbado casi totalmente el platanal, pero actualmente se encuentra recuperado. Aunque algunos frutos han salido con marcas de los estragos provocados por el mal tiempo. En este solar algunas personas vierten basura, una razón más por la que darle una revisión de vez en cuando.

Mientras nos disponíamos a hacer el trabajo, pues a Eduardo se le ocurre la genial idea de grabar un vídeo, para documentar la tarea en el platanal y así contarles sobre mis tareas matutinas. Ya que como estoy jubilado, siempre trato de mantenerme activo de una cosa en otra, ya sea en el sembrado o arreglando cualquier artículo del hogar descompuesto, como les he contado en post anteriores de los arreglos de sombrillas. Y así trato de mantenerme útil, pues no se puede perder los deseos de echar pa alante y de vivir.

My son Eduardo, who happened to be returning from taking Eduardito, my grandson, to elementary school, stopped by the house and sat for a while in the living room. I gave him some coffee and invited him to take a look at the banana plantation we have in a small sunny spot behind the building. I wanted to give it a little culture to remove the dry leaves, plants that have proliferated due to the rains. I also wanted to pick some bunches of bananas both for consumption and for the piglet that I have in the backyard of the house.

The last cyclone that passed through here, had almost completely knocked down the banana plantation, but it is now recovered. Although some fruits have come out with marks of the ravages caused by the bad weather. In this lot some people dump garbage, one more reason to give it a review from time to time.

While we were getting ready to do the work, Eduardo had the brilliant idea of recording a video, to document the work in the platanal and tell you about my morning chores. Since I am retired, I always try to keep active from one thing to another, whether it is planting or fixing any broken household item, as I have told you in previous posts about fixing umbrellas. And so I try to keep myself useful, because one cannot lose the desire to move forward and to live.
