Un saludo enorme a la terrorífica comunidad de Zona de escalofríos, hoy les traigo un nuevo corto de terror inspirado en mi amor por los búhos. No crean que los veo como seres asesinos, al contrario, son los seres más hermosos y dulces que he visto pero en esta ocasión voy a romper con esa regla.

A huge greeting to the terrifying community of Chill Zone, today I bring you a new horror short film inspired by my love for owls. Don't think I see them as murderous beings, on the contrary, they are the most beautiful and sweetest beings I've ever seen but this time I'm going to break that rule.

Antes de empezar con el corto, quería hacer una aclaración. En muchas ocasiones, las personas nos encontramos con pichones o juveniles de aves (búhos en este caso) tirados en el suelo, como si se hubiesen caído del nido o hayan sido rechazados y abandonados por sus padres.

Before starting with the short film, I wanted to make a clarification. On many occasions, people come across chicks or young birds (owls in this case) lying on the ground, as if they had fallen out of the nest or had been rejected and abandoned by their parents.

Esto no es del todo cierto. Si bien es cierto que algunos pichones son rechazados y dejados a su suerte por sus propios padres, en el caso de los búhos, es diferente. Ellos, cuando están aprendiendo a volar, es normal que se caigan del nido y se queden al pie del árbol donde se encuentra su nido solo, como si estuviese desamparado, muchas aves hacen lo mismo.

This is not entirely true. While it is true that some chicks are rejected and left to fend for themselves by their own parents, in the case of owls, it is different. When they are learning to fly, it is normal for them to fall out of the nest and stay at the foot of the tree where their nest is alone, as if they were helpless, and many birds do the same.

2- Una vez corroborado que no está herido, busca su nido, ellos caen y permanecen cerca de ellos. Busca hasta en lo más alto de los árboles, si lo encuentras puedes devolverlo o simplemente dejarlo allí.

3- Asegúrate de que no haya depredadores cerca, de ser este el caso, colócalo en un sitio seguro no muy lejos del lugar donde lo encontraste. ¡No lo alimentes!

No te lleves al pichón porque no fue abandonado, sus padres están cerca de él y los chiquitos emiten señales a los mismos para que estos puedan encontrarlos en tales situaciones. Si tú te los llevas, no serán capaces de oír estas señales y los estarás separando de su familia, por ende no los estas ayudando como crees que lo estás haciendo.

Si seguiste todo esto al pie de la letra, ten por seguro que su familia no vendrá a buscarte para vengarse por haberte llevado a su pequeño. Si te lo llevaste, asegúrate de darle alimento adecuado, son aves rapaces, cualquier cosa que les des de comer podrían tomarlo a mal y no querrás saber de lo que son capaces.

Don't take the pigeon away because it was not abandoned, its parents are close to it and the little ones give off signals to their parents so that they can find them in such situations. If you take them away, they will not be able to hear these signals and you will be separating them from their family, so you are not helping them as you think you are.
