My journey to Anambra from Rivers State and hanging out with the first doctor to discover COVID

Was on a road trip with Ihuoma, my course mate on our way to Anambra so we can begin our clearance at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital after a long period of planning and anticipating how things would be.

Initially was supposed to travel from Bayelsa then I thought it best to take a bus from Port Harcourt after discussing some specifics with Belemo. Finally recalculated and found out it would be cheaper to go after his wedding and pick up my documents afterwards.

I hoped to report there before they terminated my appointment. They are supposed to terminate it on Friday.

I and Ihuoma planned to travel on a bus, we had already booked the bus to Nnewe when she called and said we'd be going on a road trip to Anambra.

She's been hustling to get a refund...I hope she does cause my money is not long…it doesn't grow like grass, especially after the end of the bull run…

So we are on our way and it's been a nice journey except for all the regular stops that are almost 100 meters apart.

It's almost as if they just want to finish all the money you have on you...then shoot you for not having money.

I met someone I'm a fan of today, a role model and an all-around superstar.

She was the first doctor to meet a covid patient and I identified the case.

She is a former student of Uniport, my school and it's kind of a thing of pride for me.

She told stories about her experience working in different places in Nigeria.

We talked about the Twitter ban and the new tinted glass ban...even if you have a permit.

Our tinted glass has been the reason many officers (close to 8 or 10) have stopped us. They keep on asking us for money to "wash the glass".

I'll need money for this new life in Nnewe….If I want to wash my clothes I don't just need detergents now...I'll need buckets too.

But everything will have to sort itself out.
