I love plants and love to Garden. Tho I've quite a number of houseplants, many of which go outside in the Summer, I cannot help but bring in Annuals to enjoy as housplants as well.
As I'm already in the mode of bringing in my houseplants at the Summer's End I usually go around and see what annuals are worth the effort. Always coleus wins. I have a variety, a very dark version I've loved, that I have been bringing in for years and then taking cuttings and making more so come Summer I'll have the colour again. I'm never sure if the same colour will be availalbe. I have a new coleus this season that I Just loved the colour , so , it had to be one of the contenders. I've already taken a few cuttings and rooted them in water and repotted them. I'm hoping to have a new new Border of the two colours come Summertime.
I also take my houseplant begonias and actually dig them into the ground in my shad garden. I just like to let them have a little Summer holiday and get their roots into real ground. It usually doubles in size so then I can dig them up, per usual, for Winter inside and end up with a couple more plants either for my collection, but often to share with others.
I have always found gardening and propagating so akin to artwork and being an artist as well, the two are often seen as one in my mind. Painting a landscape with the colour of plants and flowers.
My drawing is of a lovely witch off to have tea by the seaside. She has the luck of some animal servants to make her day more enjoyable. It was done during inktober and tho I often draw and ink daily, I try and really push myself in October.
