Hive Open Mic 104 : Terlalu Manis - Slank cover by @donirosayandi

Hi Hivers, how are you all? I'm sure we're all doing well in early March. Must be fun, right? By the way, my name is @donirosayandi, I'm a beginner guitarist. On this auspicious occasion I will challenge myself again to sing, by singing the Hive Open Mic contest #openmic week 104 with the following theme: "Guitarra Automática." In English, this means: "Automatic Guitar," making reference to the weapons of destruction and transmuting them into tools of creation, like a war made peaceful through music. This theme is selected by @alejandrorigo, who is a rad guitarist and singer-songwriter from Venezuela. For this week's theme I have prepared a good song, a song related to this theme is a song called "Too Sweet" which was popularized by "Slank"

Slank is a band from Indonesia which was originally named Cikini Stones Complex (CSC). CSC was formed in 1986 and consists of Bimo Setiawan (drums), Boy (guitar), Kiki (guitar), Abi (bass), Uti (vocals), and Well Welly (vocals). Until 1996, the band experienced personnel changes more than 10 times.

After repeated personnel changes, the band finally has a definite formation consisting of Bimbim (drums), Kaka (vocals), Ivanka (bass), Ridho (guitar), and Abdee (guitar). When pursuing their careers, they only played songs from idol musicians such as the Rolling Stones. However, over time, they began to work by playing their own original songs. His slengean style, aka relaxed, modest, and indifferent on stage made this band finally called the Slank band.

Too Sweet is one of Slank's hit songs taken from the album "Kampungan" which was released in December 1991. It tells the story of a girl.

According to Bimbim, the girl was neither a lover nor a boyfriend. "The story is, I have a girl friend, I'm not dating," the girl spent a lot of time with him. "We often go everywhere together," However, the girl had to leave Bimbim at some point. As a memory, Bimbim wrote a song which was later titled Too Sweet. This song tells the story of someone who has been close, but has not yet been made to be left behind. The melody at the beginning of the song is very familiar to Slankers (Slank fans) the melody is always repeated and never bored to hear, and it is very easy to play, like a unique guitar machine and harmony, I really like it. This is what made me choose this song, because I think this song fits the theme of the 104th week of Hive Open Mic chosen by @alejandrorigo, namely "Automatic Guitar".
