The special nature reserve 'Carska Bara' (Tzar's Swamp) lies between 3 cities: Belgrade, Novi Sad and Zrenjanin. It is located between the rivers Tisa and Begej. A few days ago I published a raw video of this area made by a drone, and now I am publishing an edited video. I am sure that you will like Tsarska bara very much and that you will enjoy it immensely.
Carska Bara is a system of aquatic ecosystems with strips of reeds and sedges, steppes and willows. Countless larger and smaller marshes once stretched on this area. Today, this area is filled with the ponds and meanders of Stari Begej.
The flora consists of numerous autochthonous species. According to their value, the following aquatic plants stand out: water grits, water fern, white water lily. The meadow vegetation consists of: sedge, sedge, mallow, meadow sage; and in the swamp: water lily, pond iris, duckweed and others.
Significant parts of the Special Nature Reserve 'Carska Bara' are occupied by forest areas. In the vicinity of the heron and cormorant colony, many trees have dried tops, which makes them suitable for observation decks and airstrips for fishing in a lake or pond.
The world of fauna is also rich, so with a bit of luck you can find here: roe deer, fox, rabbit, ferret, hedgehog, green frog and colorful salamander. What has brought world fame to this place is the presence of bird life with about 240 species. Some of the rare birds are: white-tailed eagle, harrier, sparrow, buzzard, spoonbill.
The earliest presence of man in this paradise on earth goes back as far as 6000 years ago. The Hun leader Attila marked the early history of the region and many legends about the origin of the name Tzar's Swamp are linked to his name.
