Hello dear friends of this great community of Hive #Openmic. This week it cost me a little to know what theme to choose because there are too many songs that deal with this sublime theme and so treated in the art world especially exploited by the music that many times overexploits this which is known as cheesy music, I hope you can enjoy this presentation that I have made with so much love and remember, vote, comment and reblog.

When I heard this song for the first time I found it so beautiful and sublime that I was really captivated by its beautiful melodies and wonderful lyrics that almost instantly invited me to take out its chords on my guitar to try to interpret it as I could at that time in Santa Marta where I lived playing in the street with my band for the tourists who saw us and enjoyed our shows. The first time I was able to play it live was with a cellist friend to whom I had passed the song since a long time ago so that he could learn it and we could play it together and it was really quite sublime the sound of this piece with the instruments.

Although this story I just told you happened some years ago, I still listen to the melodious notes of this piece and I find it extraordinary the fact that it still manages to move me and thinking about this week's theme, it occurred to me that I had never presented it on this platform and I took advantage of having the tools and the opportunity that this week our theme gave rise to this topic and I got down to work and here is the result.

I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed playing and performing it for all of you and remember, vote, comment and reblog.

    Letra | Lyrics

When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
    Or a beautiful sunrise
Well, there's so much they hold

And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
    How old is your soul?

Well, I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
    I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space
    To do some navigating
    I'll be here patiently waiting
    To see what you find

'Cause even the stars, they burn
Some even fall to the Earth
We've got a lot to learn
    God knows we're worth it
    No, I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences, they do a lot to teach us
How to use the tools and gifts we got, yeah
We got a lot at stake

And in the end, you're still my friend
At least, we did intend for us to work
We didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I've got and what I'm not
    And who I am

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
    I'm still looking up
    I'm still looking up

Well, I won't give up on us (no, I'm not giving up)
God knows I'm tough enough (I am tough, I am loved)
We got a lot to learn (we're alive, we are loved)
God knows we're worth it (and we're worth it)

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
    I'm still looking up
