Important News for CTPSB

A couple of weeks ago, the upvote service that we were using stopped working and I tried to make manual curation with the @ctpsb account. The problem is: I don't have enough time to do it well and I just ended up upvoting the posts of the community members. I therefore started to use hive.vote to automatize the upvotes of the program. The problem here is that I couldn't set tags and quality limits to these upvotes. The result is that the account was upvoting the posts of the community members without consideration of content and quality.

That is the reason why I went through a thorough analysis of all the accounts in the program. I looked at the wallets and also at the activity and at the posts of each author.

Supporting the CTP community

The main objective of the ctpsb project is to help the members of the CTP community to grow. It's not so easy to define who is and who is not a member of this community. However, it's not possible to be part of this community without any CTP stake!

I believe that the more people stake CTP, the more they have skin in the game and the more they can be considered to be part of this community.

The CTPSB project organizes regularly CTP staking contests and it's no secret that we want to have people staking CTP tokens. For this reason, I decided that the upvotes given by the @ctpsb account are from now on related to the CTP stake somebody has. The more CTP stake, the bigger the upvotes from @ctpsb can be.

I've set some thresholds that I won't disclose. If people don't meet these thresholds, they will lose their place in the program and the according upvotes. The message is: stake CTP!

We want quality content

When going through some of the accounts, I have to say that I was kind of surprised by what I saw. There were some posts that didn't have any text at all. The only content of the posts was a screenshot! If it's one post, I don't say anything but if all the posts of an author are like that, I believe there is no space for this person in this program. It's totally unfair if such content gets similar upvotes than a 1000 word post!

CTP tag

The CTPSB project aims to promote the CTP community as I mentioned already. This means that we want to favor the ctptalk.com frontend. Your posts will only appear on this front-end if you add the #ctp tag on your posts.
When I went through the accounts of the community, I checked for each author how regularly he posted with the CTP tag. According to this, I limited the number of upvotes he could get from the program.

Trying to be fair to everybody

The CTPSB project is owned by the holders of the CTPSB token and it's original purpose was to help the members of the CTP community to progress on Hive. It may sound hard but we don't want to support people who cash out all what they earn on Hive. We want to support people who want to build and grow. We also want to support the people who are committed to this community and who continue to grow their CTP stake.

I have set some parameters for myself that I will check regularly. They are not fixed because everything is dynamic but they can be summed up as follows:

• To be part of the CTPSB program, you need to have a good amount of CTP staked and your stake has to grow over time
• The more CTP stake you own, the bigger upvotes you can get
• Quality content is paramount. It's very difficult to define what quality content is. However, your posts need at least to have text in them. A simple image is not a post!
• You need to use the #ctp tag on your posts.
• We also want you to power up hive and grow your account over time

With these parameters, I have decreased the voting power for some accounts and increased it on others. I have also limited the number of posts that can be upvoted per week. The more regularly you use the CTP tag, the more upvotes you can get but it won't be possible to get upvotes every day.

The idea of these measures is to make sure that the voting activity of the @ctpsb account still fulfills the original purpose of the project which is to help the members of the CTP community to grow on this blockchain and at the same time make it as fair as possible for everybody involved.
