    Un saludo a todos los Foodies, bienvenidos a #FoodieFriday, el espacio donde estaré compartiendo videos, fotos, recetas y cualquier cosa relacionada al mundo de la gastronomía.

    Con este post doy apertura en mi blog a esta nueva sección para gastronomía, la cual estoy creando con mucho cariño para ustedes. Espero les guste 😊

    TEQUEÑOS

    This time I bring you a post making tequeños, a traditional snack from Venezuela. For this appetiser you need:

    • 4 cups of wheat flour
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 1 cup edible vegetable oil
    • 1 cup panela syrup
    • 1 Pound of cheese
    • 1 cup of water

    En esta oportunidad les traigo un post preparando tequeños, un snack tradicional de Venezuela, hecho principalmente con harina de trigo y queso. Para este aperitivo se necesita:

    • 4 tazas de harina de trigo
    • 1 taza de azúcar
    • 2 cucharaditas de sal
    • 1 taza de aceite vegetal comestible
    • 1 taza de sirope de papelón
    • 1/2 kilo de queso
    • 1 taza de agua

    Procedure | Procedimiento

    - Step 1 -

    First we stir the wheat flour with the sugar and salt, once the solids are well mixed we can add the oil and the panela syrup, beat until it is homogeneous.

    - Paso 1 -

    Primero batimos la harina de trigo con el azúcar y la sal, una vez esten bien mesclados los sólidos podemos añadir el aceite y el sirope de papelón, batimos hasta que quede homogénea.

    - Step 2 -

    We proceed to add the water little by little and mix it with our hands. Be careful not to overdo it, sometimes you need less than a cup for the mixture, let your senses guide you.

    Sprinkle a little flour and start kneading. The dough will be ready when it has a consistency similar to that of a plasticine, the spot is when the dough starts to come off your fingers.

    - Paso 2 -

    Procedemos a añadir el agua poco a poco y mezclarla con nuestras manos. Ten cuidado que no se te pase de agua, aveces necesitas menos de una taza para la mezcla, deja que tus sentidos te guíen.

    Le rociamos un poco de harina y empezamos a amasar. La masa estará lista cuando tenga una concistencia similar a la de una plastilina, el punto lo encuentras cuando la masa se empieza a despegar de tus dedos.


    - Step 3 -

    Once the dough is ready, stretch it and cut it into small pieces, flatten them, then chop the cheese into strips and roll it with the dough. Fry them on hot oil or an Airfyer and that's it!

    - Paso 3 -

    Una vez está lista la masa pasamos a estirarla y cortarla en trozos pequeños, los aplanamos, luego picamos el queso en tiras y lo enrollamos con la masa. Freímos en aceite caliente o el Airfryer y ¡listo!

    Tequeños are a delicious snack that children especially like, they are ideal to eat for breakfast or to accompany it with popcorn when watching a movie.

    You can have them with barbecue, melted cheese, napoli sauce, Tartar sauce or even dip them in melted chocolate, tequeños are very versatile, they are fried so it is not the healthiest food, but very delicious.

    Los Tequeños son un munchy delicioso que le gusta sobretodo a los niños, son ideales para comer en el desayuno o acompañarlo con cotufas al ver una peli.

    Puedes acompañarlos con barbecue, queso fundido, salsa napoli, Tártara o incluso bañarlos en chocolate derretido, los tequeños son muy versátiles, son fritos así que no es el alimento más saludable, pero si muy delicioso.
