Very happy day to all the Hiver`s in the community! Today I come to share with you a guitar solo where you can learn how to play it together with me through this special lesson. In the video it is detailed as clear as possible using the backing track in different speeds, so if you are a guitarist and you are learning, I can recommend you to approach this solo so that you not only know the interaction of the scales of F# Minor in the song, but also to practice the auditory development not depending on a transcription or a score.

I was very interested in sharing this video in a musical lesson format, because Juanes is one of those few musicians in Latin America that relates to the great diversity of musical genres and uses them for his compositions. He had different types of bands from Metal in his beginnings to what he is today, and as every musician I was encouraged to know his history and influences and I think it is an anecdote that will call the attention of many musicians in some way.

If you are a guitarist I can suggest you to practice either with an electric guitar in the best case, although you could also play with an acoustic guitar transposing some phrases. If your guitar sound is from an electric guitar it is recommended that you use an overdrive pedal on top of a clean signal as you can see below:

Poca señal de GAIN 1 | Low GAIN 1 signal

Poca señal de Drive o GAIN | Low DRIVE OR GAIN signal

In my personal opinion I have seen guitarists practicing with distortions and a lot of effects without even knowing what their internal voice is like on the instrument and I say this not only because I could have been included at some point, but because I often see guitarists doing that and it is something that should be corrected. Without saturating the signal of the instrument with effects or pedals and as long as your sound is as clean as possible in terms of tone and execution, then the musician can get the best out of it.

    1. Practicing fingering
    2. Clean guitar sound
    3. If you have an acoustic guitar practice this solo to improve the range of finger articulation.
    4. You can use any drum rhythm and speed you need to scale this lesson. Here are the different speed versions that you can use as a backing track to practice:
