Hello to everyone in the Geekzone community! I'm here again to bring you a special work for you, who have already seen some of my projects dedicated to building some of the houses of our favorite movies and series. So a few days ago I got to work on Walter White's house, character from the amazing TV series, Breaking Bad. A house that is iconic for all connoisseurs of the series, where some of the most intense moments were lived during this story. So join me.

Walter White's house is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There he lives with his wife Skyler, his son Walter "Junior" and his daughter Holly. In real life, the house exists and belongs to a family who ceded authority so that Vince Gilligan's team could do some filming. It is currently a tourist spot, although the owners are not very happy about the siege on their home. To build this house I have based on the real house, videos and stills from the series and blueprints (fan re-constructions).

Nuevamente me encuentro por aquí para traerles un trabajo especial para ustedes, quienes ya han visto algunos de mis proyectos dedicados a construcciones de algunas de las casas de nuestras películas y series favoritas. Así que hace algunos días me puse a trabajar en la casa de Walter White, personaje de la increíble serie de televisión, Breaking Bad. Una casa que es icónica para todos los conocedores de la serie, dónde se vivieron algunos de los momentos más intensos durante esta historia. Así que acompáñame.

La casa de Walter White se encuentra en Alburquerque, Nuevo México. Allí vive junto a su esposa Skyler, su hijo Walter "Junior" y su hija Holly. En la vida real, la casa existe y pertenece a una familia la cual cedió autoridad para que el equipo de Vince Gilligan pudieran realizar algunas tomas. Actualmente es un punto turístico, aunque los dueños no estén muy contentos por el asedio a su hogar. Para construir esta casa me he basado en la casa real, videos y fotogramas de la serie y planos (re-construcciones de fanáticos).

It is a small house, but do not be fooled because the house certainly has its complexities. On the one hand we have the distribution of the spaces in the house and that, a bit in the Simpsons way, the rooms seem to change location depending on the reference. So I did a mix of both, taking into consideration the primary elements and leaving behind some things that are not so relevant. For example, it looks like there is only one bathroom in the house because at no other time do we see an extra bathroom for the guests. Perhaps Hank could have been spared from learning Walter's secret if there had been another bathroom. That's why I placed a tiny extra bathroom in the hallway.

The house has: a foyer, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a master bedroom and two extra bedrooms, a bathroom (now two), a maintenance room, a front and back yard, landscaping and two parking spaces. The facade is the charm of the house. With a narrow entrance surrounded by bushes that gives us access to the front door. There is the entrance hall, living room and dining room. The walls are painted in an ocher/yellow tone and have mahogany wood baseboards. There are mahogany-colored wood panels that serve to mark the boundary between one space and another. The fireplace is one of my favorites, as it is identical and to achieve this effect I had to do several things (enclose the fireplace, add a floor and place bricks).

Es una casa pequeña, pero no se dejen engañar pues ciertamente tiene sus complejidades. Por un lado tenemos la distribución de los espacios de la casa y que, un poco al modo de Los Simpsons, las habitaciones parecen cambiar de ubicación dependiendo de la referencia. Así que hice una mezcla de ambos, tomando en consideración los elementos primordiales y dejando atrás algunas cosas que no son tan relevantes. Por ejemplo, tal parece que en la casa solo hay un baño pues en ningún otro momento vemos un baño extra para los invitados. Quizás se pudo evitar el hecho de que Hank se enterará del secreto de Walter sí hubiese existido otro baño. Por eso coloqué un diminuto baño extra en el pasillo.

La casa cuenta con: un recibidor, una sala de estar, un comedor, una cocina, una habitación principal y dos habitaciones extras, un baño (ahora dos), un cuarto de mantenimiento, un patio delantero y uno trasero, zonas verdes y dos puestos de estacionamiento. La fachada es el encanto de la casa. Con una entrada estrecha rodeada de arbustos que nos da acceso a la puerta principal. Allí está el recibidor, la sala y el comedor. Las paredes están pintadas con un tono entre ocre/amarillo y tiene rodapiés de madera color caoba. Hay paneles de madera de color caoba que sirven para marcar el termino entre un espacio a otro. La chimenea es de mis favoritas, pues quedó idéntica y para lograr ese efecto tuve que hacer varias cosas (encerrar la chimenea, añadir un piso y ubicar ladrillos).

For me it was very important to rescue the details of the house and objects of the characters that appear in the series. For example, the dining table is round but the set of chairs are different. Some chairs have round backs and others have square ones. Skyler and Walter usually sit in the square chairs facing each other and Junior, sits between them in the round chair. Also, Holly's room in the series is painted pink with a very bright green. In the Sims I didn't find one like it, however, I found one with green and I thought it was more important to leave this one since in one episode of the series, Skyler and Marie paint the room together and they used green. As a joke I placed some cereal boxes in honor of Junior. I added a sculpture of some molecules in Walter's room (a nod to his profession as a chemist).

The master bedroom is quite similar to the one in the series. With a built-in closet, a sliding door leading to the backyard, a double bed, furniture, a desk with his computer (Skyler has a laptop, but this is what I have), an armchair, a mirror and a door leading to the well-known bathroom. The bathroom has two types of wall coverings: paint and ceramic. I found some pretty similar ones, as well as the bathtub, countertops, sink, mirror, towels, and fountain. Junior and Holly's room is rather simple. In the first one I placed a single bed, posters, lamps, built-in closets, an armchair, a desk and computer (where he creates the fundraising page for his dad) and some clothes lying around the room. In Holly's, there is her crib (from Tampico), changing table, toy box and most importantly, the air duct where Walter hid the money.

Para mí fue muy importante rescatar los detalles de la casa y objetos de los personajes que aparecen en la serie. Por ejemplo, la mesa del comedor es redonda pero el juego de sillas son diferentes. Unas sillas tienen el respaldar redondo y otras cuadradas. Skyler y Walter se suelen sentar en las sillas cuadradas uno frente a otro y Junior, de sienta entre ellos en la silla redonda. También, el cuarto de Holly en la serie está pintado de rosa con un verde muy brillante. En los Sims no encontré uno igual, sin embargo, encontré uno con el verde y me pareció más importante dejar este ya que en un capítulo de la serie, Skyler y Marie pintan juntas el cuarto y utilizaban el verde. A modo de chiste coloque unas cajas de cereales en honor a Junior. Añadí una escultura de unas moléculas en el cuarto de Walter (un guiño a su profesión cómo Químico).

Las habitación principal es bastante similar al de la serie. Con un closet empotrado, una puerta corrediza que da al patio trasero, una cama matrimonial, mueble, escritorio con su computadora (Skyler tiene laptop, pero esto es lo que tengo), un sillón, un espejo y una puerta que da acceso al baño tan conocido. El baño tiene dos tipos de revestimiento en las paredes: pintura y cerámica. Encontré unos bastante parecidos, así como la bañera, encimeras, lavamanos, espejo, toallas y poceta. El cuarto de Junior y Holly es más bien sencillo. En el primero coloque una cama individual, posters, lámparas, closets empotrados, un sillón, un escritorio y computadora (dónde crea la página para recaudar fondos para su papá) y algunas ropas tiradas por todo el cuarto. En el de Holly, está su cuna (de Tampico), cambiador, caja de juguetes y lo más importante, el conducto de aire dónde Walter escondía el dinero.

Finally, the backyard has its own swimming pool, green areas, barbecue, outdoor chairs and dining table. Also, although it was not functional, the maintenance room is where Walter went crazy when Skyler took the money to give it to Ted. The parking lot doesn't have too much, it's just another space where Walter is believed to have hidden money (when he shows Holly the money). I must say that I tried to recreate every part of the house and I think I succeeded. You can take the time to look at everything in time and you will find many similarities. Sure, in The Sims it can be a bit archaic the building tools and decor, however, the goal was achieved: to create the White family home. It took me about two days, as I had to carefully look at every part of the house and match the floor plan I had. The sides of the house don't usually appear in the series (in fact, I didn't see anything about it), but I arranged them like a garden with the little I had. Para concluir, el patio trasero tiene su respectiva piscina, zonas verdes, parrillera, sillas de exterior y mesa comedor. También, aunque no fuera funcional, el cuarto de mantenimiento es dónde Walter enloqueció cuando Skyler tomó el dinero para dárselo a Ted. El estacionamiento no tiene demasiado, solo es otro de los espacios dónde se cree que Walter escondió dinero (cuando le muestra a Holly el dinero). Debo decir que intente recrear cada parte de la casa y creo haberlo logrado. Pueden tomarse el tiempo para ver todo con tiempo y encontrarán similitudes varias. Claro, en Los Sims puede ser un poco arcaico las herramientas de construcción y la decoración, sin embargo, se logró el objetivo: crear la casa de la familia White. Me tomó alrededor de dos días, pues debía ver con cuidado cada parte de la casa y que coincidiera con el plano que tenía. Los laterales de la casa no suelen aparecer en la serie (de hecho, no ví nada al respecto), sin embargo los acomode cómo un jardín con lo poco que tuve. Finalmente, me ha encantado contruir esta casa y más adelante creare los personajes. Sí desean verlo pueden hacerme saber aquí.
