SIMULATION #8

Went a wee WONK WONK this video.
today was pretty run of the mill trip to the science discovery musuem in Binghampton N.Y.
i edited the video and was trying to think what music to go with it. Was thinking about doing a naration voiceover.
Talk about how this place is designed for young kids.
How my daughter at 12 was less interested. she kinda looked at things and walked around.
she tried to play to some extent, but not really
then my boy who was 9 was still checking everything out.
he was kinda bored but willing to play with the knobs and get inside the bubble maker.
it made me think about my child hood.
about aging.
about the transition from adolesence

i was trying to think about how to embue the video with these feelings.
lol, but i just kinda watched it and it was just a friendly family video
so i was uncertain what to do.
i thought, well let me find some wierd music and ill see about reading a poem or doing something to go with the images.

lol. so i went off searching for the sound to accompany the images,
i found this music in some lost track recordings of Kaldera.
And instead of a voice over naration i did a one take improvisational song,
i sang about what i was seeing and the feeling i was trying to convey.
i fucked with the voice pitch and modulation.
its super wierd but i kinda like it as a one off.
at one point the kids are flying a flight simulator and i started singing about living in a Simulation.
i kinda thought SIMULATION fit as a name for the video and matched the feeling of this science musuem simulating the feeling of science to small kids.

i never worry to much about these things
trying to crank out posts and videos on the daily means you cant be a perfectionist
or youll simply burn out.
i like the process of day in day out iteration.
so today you get a family video taken on a 360 GoPro
edited with lumafusion.
and where i brough to the mix studio floor cuts of Kaldera
and to record a voiceover improv song,
my voice was modulated using the BOSS VE1
