Right Hand Flute Technique

We all have to practice our technique, that is something we already know. However, many times we don't know why. Technique is not a set of rules that the teacher invented to give us a headache, it is a set of mechanics that allow us a more relaxed, productive and above all, healthy performance. We play for many hours and if we do it with inadequate postures, we can suffer injuries at some point.
That is why I tend to be quite demanding with my students regarding their technique, from how to place their feet on the floor to how to place the tip of the little finger. Everything matters but always remember one thing: technique is a tool, not an end. The goal will always be our beloved music.
