Hello there, gamers of the blockchain!

Time to get back to the gameplay videos! Today, I'm starting off a series on the first part of a really amazing game. It's The Evil Within 1. This one was released in 2014 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows. It's creator Shinji Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil series, worked in collaboration with Bethesda Softworks and Tango Gameworks.

It's a third-person survival horror game that resembles a lot the Resident Evil series, but this one has a big drive into psychological horror. The gameplay has a lot of elements that rely into stealth and collecting information rather than going guns blazing into action. Ammunition is scarce and that forces you to think twice before shooting.

It was really an amazing game I tried last year since both 1 and 2 were given by Epic Games.

We play as Arthur. This cop from Crimson City has a tough background story and is called to investigate a mass murder at a mental institution. And once inside the place, things go haywire. Strange things are happening there and everywhere. After a close encounter with death, we need to scape the place and things get in motion to start the whole survival and uncovering of the truth.

One of the elements that is present everywhere is this dark atmosphere which plays along with the feeling of never being safe anywhere. The game does a great job at keeping you on your toes.

I think it also portrays the weird design of powerups with the addition of this "brain juice" thing that we can collect to enhance our abilities. The place where we do this is also a mystery as it seems to be a place that exists in our own imagination and we can access through some mirrors in certain places. Think of it as a Safe Rooms, but weirder.

This first chapter of the game does a good job in teaching the mechanics that will be present throughout the whole adventure. Something I find very interesting is that you can use matches to burn bodies or fallen enemies to save ammo. That's an interesting twist into the whole fighting scenarios, but it also pays a lot to plan how to take out enemies via stealth kills. In that regard, the game feels amazing.

The first section also plays with your nerves as you are basically powerless and have to resort to your hiding skills to get out of the place.

Me refiero a The Evil Within 1.
