    About :

It is holy week for meeee so I have no work today again. I've been quite proud of my consistency lately and I really have gone back to just soending all my free time drawing. So I finally have a bit of my old self back.... Unfortunately, it's the old self that just has very high blood lust. Yes, my blood lust is back and I am both irritated and a bit agitated but also very deflated because this summer heat is giving me all kinds of reasons to be angry.

I would have stayed in the lab dorms had I known this was how bad the summer heat was outside of the dorms (I rarely go out now. I only have dorm, gym and wet market on my travel list now). So with that said, I kind of wenr ahead and had fun with my agitated emotions and did this.

    Software: medibang paint
    Duration: 4 hours

And I made a little timelapse video of it because I enjoyed drawing this one. it eased my burning rage

And so far, it's one of my most realistic digital paintings so far. I mean, it could still use a bit of polishing up, sure but for an attempt after so many years of no digital art, I think this one is pretty great. and done within an interrupted 4 hours too.

But for those of you who can't view the short clip, here is my process 😊

So I didn't have shots of the sketch... again... But that was mostly cuz I just went straight to the render on this one. idk my hands are fast when I'm this stressed. I had made it a point to keep using red no matter what and stuck with that black background to make the red really pop out. It also kind of gives off an edgy vibe again, which I love. A huge contrast to the really light and soft art I've been doing.

Then I don't think I need to describe my process entirely since it's just a bust drawing this time and I really focused on the face, the expression, the depth and how to work all that in woth the medibang watercolour brush. It's actually really nice that you can adjust the blendability and color load of your brush so you can still get that same vibe to your art with every color layer you add. I don't think Paint tool SAI ever had this, but I do miss SAI since it was one of the original drawing tool I used.

For the finishing touches though, I used the airbrush for everything. So basically I only ever use 3 brushes and that's pen fir the sketch layer, watercolour for the render and aurbrush for the final detailing. I do liquify some layers to make the proportions better and the finger brush to just have that rough blend tha watercolour brush doesn't have. But overall, I survive with just these brushes 😅 I don't even do that many layers, just maybe one or two unless I decide to add an accessory layer, but I don't think I'll incorporate accessories into my art just yet.

This is all from me for today. I'll be working on a new drawing later. Me and my dog still have to go for a little doggy walk. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you guys when I can!
