Northern Ireland Gets Full Marriage Equality! 🏳️‍🌈

Northern Ireland has officially won full marriage equality! A law was amended to allow civil unions to be converted into fully recognized marriages. The law was updated on October 22nd, and the victory marks the completion of a hard-fought campaign from LGBT+ activists to see marriage equality recognised in their region. The change means that LGBT+ couples in Northern Ireland will be allowed to convert their civil partnerships into marriages as soon as December 7th. Under the new terms of the law change, couples in civil partnerships will have a 3-year window in which they can convert their civil-union into a marriage. During the first year after the law is implemented, the fee for this conversion will be waived.
