Day 2

Hope you are all well today. I made it to day 2 of the #IamAliveChallenge of @flaxz.

Car Repair Estimates

After I notified my insurer about my car accident, I got the confirmation email from them yesterday that I need to visit their garage for the estimates of the repair.

The repair garage of the insurer is at the suburbs of Abu Dhabi, 25 kms from the city. I had to rely solely on google maps on my way there. After what seemed like a hundred of roundabouts, I reached the garage.

I was shocked to see the damages of the cars that were there. Some might be canceled already. Mine as you can see below is pretty minor, but will still take three days for them to fix.

Incomplete Accident Report

Upon presenting to the insurance representative at the garage, he noted that the damages indicated at the report did not include my side mirror. Well, I did not see that beforehand because the report was written in Arabic!

I went to the Traffic Department to request for the report to be updated, but ended up just calling their toll free number. I was advised to go to their website, and using the accident report number, request for the modification.

Just a few hours after uploading the photo of the damage to their e-services website, I got the confirmation that the report amendment had been approved.

It's been a long morning for me. The heat is getting more intense here as days go by. I wonder, the COVID-19 cases still increase alarmingly too. The desert summer cannot do anything to at least tame this virus. When I reached home, there were 2 big buses that transported some laborers to the testing centre next to our home.

Needless to say, we still have lots of things to be thankful for everyday.
