Hi! Today I bring you academic music again, another part of Jules Demersseman's Concert Solo No. 6, the first movement.
Searching a little about this piece I found that it is also called "Italian Concert" because is inspired by the folklore of Italy and I would like to delve a little about this in this post.
From the beginning of the history of music, Italy has always been a center of high musical production, being this country where the Opera was born, specifically in the city of Florence, dating back to the 1600s.
As the story developed, different genres appeared, such as the Neapolitan Song, La Stradella and Tarantella.
In this work the composer was inspired by the Neapolitan Song and Stradella in the last two movements.
Its release date dates from the 1850s approximately, which coincides with Musical Romanticism and the First World War, which caused the migration of Italian to Italy and the world and the expansion of its folklore.
Some of the most popular Italian songs are: O sole mio, Torna a Suriento and Santa Lucila.
