Oh, oh, uhum, uhum
Que triste se oye la lluvia
En las casas de cartón
Que lejos pasa la esperanza
En los techos de cartón
After a few days where I couldn't be near the music, I'm back to share with my favorite community.
These days were very busy, I was with a great team of Hivers representing our Blockchain in a great event called Caracas Blockchain Week, there I had the opportunity to learn many things and also to meet very special people for me as @jesuslnrs and his life partner @jhoxiris. For this reason it was impossible for me to record, however already at home I'm getting back into the rhythm to return to my activities.
This week the theme proposed by @indonesiabersatu , is about fighting against oppression, a topic that undoubtedly is of much reflection and makes us think if we have really overcome as humanity so many anti-values that have made many of the people of society live oppressed by the system where they live.
Freeing ourselves from oppression can also be an issue of our inner world, many times we are slaves of so many things that we keep our soul slaves and unable to enjoy true happiness.
The song I bring today is a cover of the Venezuelan singer-songwriter Alí Primera, who stood out in his musical career for composing songs with lyrics of protest against the system. I have listened to "Techos de cartón" literally since I was a child and it is still relevant today, because there are still thousands of children who live a life under the oppression of poverty, lack of education and lack of love.
Cardboard Roofs
Author: Alí Primera
How sad, you can hear the rain
On the cardboard roofs
How sad my people live
In the cardboard houses
The worker is coming down
Almost dragging his steps
Because of the weight of suffering
Look how much suffering is a lot
Look how heavy the suffering is
Above, he leaves the pregnant woman
Down is the city
And she gets lost in its tangle
It's her life without tomorrow
There falls the rain
Comes, comes the suffering
But if the rain passes
When does suffering pass?
When does hope come?
Children color of my land
With their same scars
Millionaires of worms
And, that's why
How sad the children live
In cardboard houses
How happy the dogs live
House of the exploiter
You won't believe it
But there are dog schools
And they give them an education
So that they don't bite the newspapers
But the boss
For years, for many years
He's been biting the worker
Oh, oh, uhum, uhum
How sad the rain can be heard
In the cardboard houses
How far away hope passes
On the cardboard roofs
