Hello music fam!
Some of you might have seen my acoustic version of 'Tears Don't Fall' a few weeks ago, and probably have seen a few more of my other acoustic covers and/or original songs. I quite liked playing Tears Don't Fall the other week so decided to record an acoustic version, properly! Well, as best as I can anyway haha!
Bullet For My Valentine are a Welsh Metalcore band who released their debut album The Poison in 2005! If you know this song, you'll know the 'LET'S GOOOOOOOOO!' part at the start, which is why I screamed it haha! It might not fit with the acoustic version but hey I just thought why now :) my apologies if you hated that! :P I did have a plan on whispering it but couldn't resist ;)
All of the acoustic guitar parts you can here are playing my me :) there are 3 layers to it. I kind of just built it up as I went and I guess this version is still in its beta phase and there are some sections that need a little bit of work, which I comment on during the video.
For this video, I am double tracking my vocals. Now, I am not a producer, but does anyone know if double tracking vocals is typical? When I was in the studio, the producer makes my vocals sound huge, but I don't think they are double tracked. I know back in the day people would double track their guitars. For example, Metallica - James Hetfield is such a tight rhythm player that he was amazing at double tracking his guitar parts. I also know that 'Crazy Train' solo by Randy Rhoads is double tracked, if you can believe that! How cool!
I am not really trying to harmonise my vocals here but just having some fun laying down new ideas. I think that is always important to have fun and challenge ourselves! Usually I am just playing guitar, but here I am focusing on my vocals a little more. They do need some work but I am getting more confident with them. Some years ago I would have never uploaded vocal covers or even my originals! So it is a nice feeling to break out of the shell and just go with it!:)
**Keep on rocking everyone! Peace and love! **
PS - any suggestions of how I can improve are always welcome! :)
