The Evil Within 1 | Lessons from the Past [No Commentary Gameplay]

After surviving The Keeper, we'll finally get some insight upon our situation. However, we'll need to go through a cave system until we reach another semblance of civilization. Around here, we'll get into some weird kind of enemies. More of the two-headed monsters and some others we can stomp without problems.

Also, we'll get to the simplest puzzle of the whole game, There's a trap and we get a tablet that's stained with blood on one side. The answer lies on the opposite side of the thing. It's a neat detail.

Bumping into our friend the doctor, we'll finally get a grip onto our situation. It happens we're inside Rudvik's mind and we need to find a way to get out of it. So, we're connected to a machines we've seen many times before. However, our reunion will be interrupted by another monster getting us back into our safe space, which ends up not being safe at all as Rudvik will show up to transport us to another place.

Rudvik will transport us to a memory where we'll need to solve some mind puzzles. Literally working on brains to open a door. Alongside these puzzles, we'll get some insight into memories about his story.

The whole chapter ends by going back into the time when he got his burnt features and how his sister died. So the lady with many arms and long hair is a representation of his sister. Her weakness to fire is a result of the way he saw her die. She was burnt alive by some people who had grievances with his family. It is a gruesome death! We also get to sympathize with the so called villain of the story.

Aprendiendo del pasado

Después de sobrevivir al Keeper, vamos a recibir mucha información sobre nuestra situación. Sin embargo, primero tenemos que atravesar un sistema de cuevas. Nos esperan más enemigos con dos cabezas y otros que podemos aplastar sin problemas.

Además, nos toparemos con el puzzle más fácil de todo el juego. Se trata de una tablilla manchada de sangre cuya respuesta yace en el lado opuesto. Es un detalle interesante.

Al avanzar, llegaremos otra vez a una escena conocida. Ahora con el doctor, nos llegará la revelación de que nos encontramos en la mente de Rudvik. Así que estamos conectados a una máquina muy parecida a la que ya hemos visto varias veces. Aunque nuestra reunión será interrumpida por un monstruo que nos hará regresar a nuestro lugar seguro; pero en esta ocasión, Rudvik hará acto de presencia para llevarnos a otro lugar.

Nos transportarán a la mansión de la familia de Ruben (el nombre original de Rudvik). Aquí entre puzzles y memorias, vamos a averiguar más sobre su pasado.

El capítulo termina llevándonos al día fatídico donde Ruben recibe todas las quemaduras que vemos en su cuerpo ahora y donde su hermana muere en un incendio. Ahora sabemos que esa criatura de muchos brazos y cabello largo es una representación de su hermana. Su debilidad al fuego lo confirma. Además, al ver parte de lo que ha vivido podemos simpatizar un poco con este villano.
